BMW 5 Series E12 came out and began to quietly revolutionize the landscape in North America in the four-door sedan. But in reality it was 37 years and 5.5 million sales around the world does. Now we are talking about the sixth generation F10, the 2011 BMW 5 Series Sedan.

Initial supply of engines in the U.S. is likely to remain near the current model, a 230-hp, naturally aspirated 3.0-liter entry-level model as the 528th and 300 hp, turbo on 535th. Like the GT, supercharged 3.0-liter inline six now uses the new 535th one stroke direct injection. The first place, so far, is restricted to the 400-hp 550th, which is powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 that we have learned to appreciate the X6 and 7 Series. For all models, power is fed from the automatic ZF eight-speed, six-speed manual may be available, but can only be offered in Europe.Other optional technical gadgets are a Lane Departure Warning System, Heads-Up Display Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, which does exactly what it says the car-speed stop-and-go traffic, and Sirius satellite radio, HD Radio and iPod connectivity.
